I wanted to provide you an update regarding Personal theft (e.g. pick pocketing, no violence used), which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

There have been reports on social media that distraction thefts have been taken place in Wimbledon Town centre. Please be vigilant, especially near banks. The method- suspect squirts the victims back with Mustard or a similar liquid. Victim takes the coat off. Whilst being distracted another suspect takes a bag/wallet/phone. If you are subject to a substance being placed on your clothing, please be aware of any distractions. We have uniformed officers on foot in the town centre and along HILLSIDE WARD.
